Winners of the inaugural Limpopo Music Awards (LIMAs) were revealed at Meropa Casino, in a glittering event on the night of Saturday 11t November 2017. The awards that are meant to celebrate and honour Limpopo artists were hosted by radio personalities Skhumbuzo Mbatha and Lejoy Mathato. This was the first edition of the LIMAs which are founded by Limpopo businessman Fortune Maswanganyi, well-known as Dj Cappuccino. Khelobedu music hit-makers Janisto and CK were the biggest winners of the night walking away with Best duo/ group collaboration award and the coveted song of the year award for their smash hit single, ‘be careful’. Another artist who had a successful night was Benny Manyengani who scooped Best Male Artist and Best Xitsonga hit awards. Dr Thomas Chauke was also honoured with Lifetime achievement award which was presented to him by MEC of Sports, Arts and Culture, Onicca Moloi.
