
Well into the second month in his position, newly appointed Makhado local Municipality Manager Freddy
Tshivhengwa’s plans are to improve service delivery in the municipality.
Tshivhengwa, born and bred in Nzhelele was appointed on 13th October 2017 after an urgent council meeting.
His appointment became effective on the 1st of December, with a five year contract. He replaces former Municipal
Manager Sakkie Mutshinyali who left in July last year with a dark cloud hanging over his head over allegations of
misconduct.
Tshivhengwa holds an Honours Degree in Applied Science of Transportation and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
He previously worked as the General Manager of Technical Services at Vhembe district municipality, where he also acted as a Municipal Manager for a year.
His track-record includes working as a Technologist for a private consultancy firm, Senior Project Manager at a provincial Department of Public Works, Project Manager at Limpopo Independent Trust, General Manager of Capital Investment and Infrastructure Development at City of Johannesburg Water Tshivhengwa plans to work with municipal employees in turning the entity.
“Much of my focus will be on staff morale because without training and capacity, we will not be able to deliver.”
