The Interim CEO of Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) Gladwin Kotsedi and chairperson of the board Andrew Dipela led a delegation of provincial Lilizela Awards winners who were competing for national honours on Sunday, 29 October 2017 at the Sandton Convention Centre in the Gauteng Province.
The Interim CEO of Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) Gladwin Kotsedi and chairperson of the board Andrew Dipela led a delegation of provincial Lilizela Awards winners who were competing for national honours on Sunday, 29 October 2017 at the Sandton Convention Centre in the Gauteng Province.During the Provincial leg of the event, Limpopo Province announced the names of the 52 provincial winners of the 2017 Lilizela Tourism Awards. The announcement was made at a prestigious awards ceremony held on 15 September 2017 at Zebula Golf Estate and Spa in the Waterberg District.
The awards recognise and reward tourism players and businesses who work passionately and with pride to deliver a world class service and whose delivery grows South Africa’s global destination competitiveness.“Each year we look forward to these highly contested tourism awards. The awards provide an opportunity for the industry to openly compete and reflect on the services that they offer. Limpopo Province is no stranger to contesting and winning national awards. The 2016 ETEYA overall winner, Besty Travel, hails and operates from Mankweng Township in Limpopo.
We are very happy with the interest displayed by the industry and we are content with the number of winners from our province at the national level,” says Kotsedi.Kotsedi, further gave gratitude to the tourism industry at large for being good ambassadors and trend setters for others in the Province. “It is our hope that that the tourism industry will be inspired by the Provincial winners in the Lilizela awards for the improvement of the visitor experience and customer service.”
The four national winners from Limpopo are: Isaiah Banda – Winner of the tourist guide under the culture subcategory.Swadini Forever Resort – Camping and caravan category.African Calabash Lodge – Lodge category. Umlani Bushcamp – Bush camping category
